Bootheel Arts Center receives $25,000 gift from the Dr. Jerry Caulder Family Trust
Gideon, MO (8/7/2017) - The Bootheel Cultural & Performing Arts Center is pleased to announce it has received a $25,000 gift from the Dr. Jerry Caulder Family Trust.
These funds will support the current renovation project for the center, which was formerly the First United Methodist Church building at 306 W. Main St. Gideon Missouri.
When completed the center will be a regional facility that will house music, art, dance and theatre for people of all ages in Southeast Missouri.
The multi-purpose facility will also house an emergency food pantry. Dr. Caulder is an alumnus of Gideon High School and has received national and international recognition in Biotechnology.
Dr. Caulder is often referred to as the “Father of Agricultural Biotechnology.” He has given expert testimony before both houses of Congress on science and technology policies.
He has also been an advisor to foreign governments on science and technology policies.
Although they live in California, Dr. Caulder and his family continue to support Southeast Missouri through their generous philanthropic giving and philosophies of education.
