The City of Malden, Mo will host it’s very first Harvest Fest this Saturday, Oct. 14 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. in downtown Malden.

There will be arts and crafts vendors and various businesses with booths set up along the streets downtown.

As most may already know, the Harvest Fest is now taking the place of the City’s Annual Hot Chili Cool Cars event.

In addition to the City of Malden, the First General Baptist Church is going to be participating in the event.

Debbie Cook with Malden’s First General BaptistChurch said since there is no chili or cars, the church is planning something new with a touch of the tried and true fun.

“We will have our booth there, sharing hot coffee and freshly baked pumpkin bread,” Cook said. “And we will be promoting our Annual Monster Mash, held at the Church each Halloween,” she added.

Malden Mayor Denton Kooyman said Color Run participants should be ready to go a little before 11 a.m., which is the start time. “There will be healthy snacks available for the runners,” Kooyman said. “The run will start by H&R Block at the corner and go up Main Street to Beckwith, from Beckwith to Decatur, back to Main Street,” he added.

The Color Run is sponsored by the local Caring Council and the Malden Parks Department.

In addition to the Color Run, there will be booths with games for children of all ages. The City of Malden invites everyone out to the Harvest Festival to support their community and it’s businesses.
