Gideon GFWC Community Woman’s Club holds November meeting
The GFWC Community Woman’s Club of Gideon met at the home of Macy Earnheart for the November Club meeting. The ladies admired the newly remodeled home and the beautiful decorations. The speaker for the evening was Craig Earnheart. One of the members favorite programs is Craig’s program on Conservation, which are always interesting and entertaining. After the program, the group moved from the living room to the dining room for refreshments served by the hostess.
Business from the meeting consisted of a donation of $100 to be given to the Gideon High School Cheerleaders; getting the letters ready to mail for Christmas Basket Donations request; list for Angel Christmas Tree at the Commercial Bank; made plans to meet at the City Park and decorate for Christmas on Saturday, Nov. 25; the Club will pack Christmas Baskets on Friday, Dec. 15 and deliver them the following Saturday morning; the Christmas Lighting Contest will be judged by out of town judges on Dec. 15 after nightfall. Cash prizes will be given, and a sign placed in the yard of the winners.
The President announced the International Convention will be in St. Louis June 22, 2018, if anyone was interested in going.
The next Club meeting will be held Dec. 4, at 6 p.m. It will be a Christmas Social. Everyone should bring an ornament for exchange and a potluck dish of their favorite Christmas recipe.
