Malden boys basketball team takes third at Oran Invitational Tourney

ORAN, Mo. - The No. 2 seeded Malden Green Wave varsity boys basketball team settled for third-place Friday night at the Oran Invitational.

Dushawn Butler tallied a game-high 35 points to help Malden beat No. 4 seeded Scott County Central 84-64 in the third-place game.

Malden led 19-17 after one quarter, 39-25 at halftime and 63-39 at the end of the third quarter.

Four Braves finished with a double-digit scoring total for Scott County Central (1-4). Titus Fields had 18 points, Landon Glueck chipped in 16 Garry Wilkerson added 14 points and Kioki Johnson recorded 11 points.

Four players also finished in double digits for Malden (2-1). Donterria Triplet tallied 12 points, Broddric Annesser scored 11 points and Chience Booker added 10 points.
